CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga (WDEF) – The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit announced they will be forming their very own cold case unit to help work on some unsolved cases in the area.
“We will never forget our victims. We will bring justice to those who committed the most heinous crimes in our community and think they got away with it,” says Clay Fuller, Assistant District Attorney.
The Circuit covers Dade, Walker, Catoosa and Chattooga counties in the Northwest corner of Georgia.
“We’re going to get a complete picture of every case that is out there and begin to review them and partner with our law enforcement agencies; get their buy in on making sure we can assist them and seeing if there is any way we can move these cases forward. We have law enforcement agencies that have cases in our four county circuit that date back to the 80s,” says Fuller.
The cold case unit says they hope this new innovation will help bring justice to unsolved cases and help families gain closure.
“There is someone that’s sitting there fat and happy that has gotten away with murder. They need to know that there is a dedicated and relentless team that will be working through the night to seek the truth, find justice, and to bring justice to that person’s doorstep and I promise that we will find that person and bring them in handcuffs. This is what wakes us up each and every day. This is the reason we come into work fired up to do what we do. We are focused on finding the truth and seeking justice for them,” says Fuller.
If you have any information on any unsolved cases in that area, please contact law enforcement.
