Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Area law enforcement put a new twist of protect and serve Thursday. Chattanooga law enforcement served lunch and dinner at Chuy’s restaurant on Gunbarrel Road to raise money for the Special Olympics.
That organizations relies on law enforcement because of all the good they do in the community and the money they raise.
Jennifer McAfee, Event Manager for the Special Olympics, said, “They’re true heroes. Sometimes they will meet these big name athletes and you think they’re gonna be awestruck, but for them, law enforcement are the true heroes in our community.”
The next big fundraising event for the Special Olympics is the polar plunge in February.
